This is the famous British built Bren Gun, based on a Czech design and introduced in 1937 to the British Army, where it continued in service right up to the Gulf War in 1991, though by then it had been rechambered in Nato 7.62mm round rather than the rimmed .303 round of WW2. This example is a mk1 in excellent condition, with very good matching woodwork and super bluing to the steel. Marked Lithgow M.A. 1941 on the right side, fitted with correct telescopic bipod and humped butt, this gpm has matching serial numbers to both frames and barrel release lever.  Of interest is the cast in second dove-tail feature under the magazine for fitment of an additional sighting system only fitted to the early Brens, also there are many markings including an M.A. FTR 1954 stamp and other acceptance stamps. Able to be cocked and dry-fired, and a degree of field stripping, fitted with original MA stamped magazine. A classic early WW2 light machine gun complete with genuine 54" webbing sling plus a couple of inert .303 rounds to load into the mag. Deactivated in the UK with proofhouse certificate of deactivation.
