This is a 12-bore double-barrelled ejector boxlock action shotgun of side-by-side construction made by Bentley and Playfair of Birmingham and London, as marked clearly on the top of the 30 inch barrels and action sides, who traded from 1845 up until 1911, when they amalgamated with Isaac Hollis to form Hollis, Bentley & Playfair. This example is in lovely condition with classic cross-hatched hardwood rear and forestock, with just the odd mark that would be expected on an Edwardian-era shotgun. Delicately engraved metalwork, with no signs of corrosion on the action or the very clean barrels. This shotgun breaks, cocks and dry-fires with a precise action on both barrels, and can be fully stripped. It would make a fabulous addition to anybody's hunting lodge, mounted over the fireplace! Two inert cartridges are included, with more available seperately in the 'Inert Ammunition' section at £1.50 each, post free if ordered with the shotgun. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
