Deactivated American M1 Carbine 1944 dated Underwood made ***SOLD***
This is a 0.30 inch calibre US M1 Carbine marked Underwood on the barrel by the foresights, and a date of 4-44 above the 'flaming bomb' symbol, so just in time for the D-Day invasion! Underwood were a military contractor who made typewriters in peace-time. This example is a current spec deactivation, but has the benefit of sliding and locking cocking-lever with fully moving trigger, and has detachable magazine and correct sling. The original hardwood furniture is in sound but 'used' condition, with a nice grain pattern in the hardwood stock, but a number of knocks and bumps from a clearly active service life, though no bits missing. The steel still retains it's original finish with no signs of rust damage. Included with this rifle are 3 inert rounds to load into the magazine. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
