British Pattern 1907 Wilkinson bayonet with scabbard RAF marked dated 1918 **SOLD**


 This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3* , better known as the SMLE.  This appears to be a refurbished item, with polished steel blade and reblacking. The blade itself is in sound condition with good point but one small chip in the otherwise good edge. Most details are still visible on the polished ricasso, showing a date of 5 18, but the Royal Cypher has gone and Wilkinson is barely there. The other side shows no re-acceptance, just inspection, bend test and broad arrow marks. Very good wooden grips on both sides and good release button, one small dent on left grip. The pommel is stamped R.A.F. IB 2994. The scabbard is in very good condition, all stitching intact to the leather, and a makers mark of WJH on the throat and chape, which have all their original finish. A lovely piece of history to compliment any SMLE, especially one of RAF issue.
