British Pattern 1907 Wilkinson bayonet, scabbard, 1943 date

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE.  This example has a parkarised steel blade with good blade and point, though a few light indents in the factory-sharpened edge. Details on the lightly blacked ricasso show 1907 as the Pattern above the Royal Cypher, S294 WSC (which was the WW2 dispersal code for Wilkinson Sword Company), and a date of '43,  though not very clearly stamped. The other side shows the usual inspection, bend test and broad arrow marks. Sound complete wooden grips on both sides, and good release button. Pleasant patina to crossguard and pommel, no corrosion. The WW2 style round-stud scabbard is in very good condition, good tight maker and inspection stamped chape and throat. An unusual WW2 made Pattern 1907 bayonet, and a lovely piece of history to compliment any SMLE.
