British Pattern 1907 Enfield made bayonet and scabbard, dated 1912

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE, in lovely condition. Ricasso markings show 1907 for the Pattern under the Royal Cypher of Edward VII, 6 '12 for date of manufacture and Enfield as the manufacturer. The other side shows more acceptance and re-acceptance marks including '16, broad arrow and bend test. The polished steel blade is in very good condition, with near perfect point and edge. Both wooden grips and release button are good, with very good blacking to pommel and crossguard. The early rivetless oval-frogstud scabbard is also in very good condition, inspection stamped chape and throat both nice and tight. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 SMLE.
