British Pattern 1907 bayonet Sandersons made, undated

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE.  Ricasso markings show only the makers name of Sandersons and nothing else.  This would probably indicate that it was sold to a friendly foreign power under an arms contract, for use with the SMLE rifle, as happened between the two world wars. The steel blade is heavily parkarised and is in very good condition, good point and  unsharpened edge, with just very minor signs of corrosion. Both wooden grips are complete and in good condition, good release button, and good blacking to crossguard and pommel. The leather scabbard is also in very good condition, all stitching intact, with a similar patina to the throat and chape. A lovely and unusual piece of history to compliment any WW1 or WW2 SMLE.
