This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE. Ricasso markings show 1907 for the Pattern under the Royal Cypher of George V, 10 '15 for manufacture date and Sanderson as the manufacturer. The other side shows acceptance marks, broad arrow and bend test, with re-acceptance date on'23. The heavily parkerised steel blade is in very good condition, perfect point and undamaged and lightly sharpened edge, with blacked ricasso. Both wooden grips are complete and in sound condition, with just a small bit of damage on the right grip, good release button. The round-fogstud scabbard is also in very good condition, all stitching intact, with much of the blued finish to the steel, and complete with WW2 style pattern 1937 webbing frog. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 or WW2 SMLE. Our Price: £90.00 |
