British Pattern 1907 bayonet Chapman made 1916 dated **SOLD**

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*,
better known as the SMLE.  Ricasso markings show 1907 for the Pattern under the Royal Cypher of George V, 10 '16 for manufacture date and Chapman as
the manufacturer (one of the rarer makers). The other side shows acceptance marks, broad arrow and bend test, and re-acceptance in '25. The lightly parkerised steel blade is in very good condition, perfect point and undamaged and unsharpened edge, with only minor marking to the steel, and blacked ricasso. Very good wooden grips and good release button, and much of the blacked finish to crossguard and pommel remains with evidence of the same green cammo paint as found on the scabbard. The round-fogstud scabbard is also in very good condition, all stitching intact, with 90% of the cammo green paint remaining on the throat and chape. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 SMLE.
