British Pattern 1907 bayonet and scabbard Sanderson made 1917 dated Canadian acceptance SOLD

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3* , better known as the SMLE.  The stamped details on the ricasso show a date of 4 17 under the Royal Cypher, 1907 for the Pattern, and  Sanderson as the manufacturer.  The other side detail is obscured by green cammo paint! The blade is in excellent, straight condition, with a good even parkarised finish to it's whole length and blacked ricasso. Good point and unsharpened edge.  Both wooden grips are very good, and good release button. Left side of pommel stamped with Canadian acceptance mark.  The round frog-stud scabbard is undamaged and unbent, all stitching intact to the leather. The throat and chape retain most of original blued finish under the remains of the same green paint. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 SMLE.
