British Pattern 1907 bayonet and scabbard Remington made dated 1915 **SOLD**

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3* , better known as the SMLE.  The stamped details on the ricasso show a date of 3 15  under 1907 for the Pattern, and  the logo for the US company of Remington as the manufacturer, plus re-acceptance dates.  The other side shows Enfield inspection marks, bend test mark and broad arrow mark. The blade is in good, straight condition, with a nice even patina to the steel, with very nice blacked ricasso. Good tip and unsharpened edge, with remnants of original brown cammo paint on the ricasso, crossguard and pommel.  Both wooden grips are complete and undamaged, and good release button.  The oval frog-stud scabbard is in good sound condition, unbent with all stitching intact to the leather, though the finish to the leather is a bit rough. Very good finish to steel throat and chape. All-in-all, a sound and unusual unmessed-with bayonet in very good condition. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 or WW2 SMLE.
