British Patt'07 Sanderson quillon parade bayonet, scabbard and frog, dated 1910

This is a Pattern 1907 hooked quillon bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE.  This example has a chromed blade for parade use, good edge and point, showing minor blemished in the chrome. Details on the ricasso show 1907 as the Pattern, a date of 1 '10, and Sanderson as the maker (Sanderson only made 22,000 of these quillon bayonets) under the Royal Cypher of Edward VII. The other side shows the usual inspection, bend test and broad arrow marks. Good release button and good complete wooden grips, and similar chromed finish to quillon crossguard and pommel. The early style oval-stud leather scabbard is in very good condition, again with chromed finish to the throat and chape, both nice and tight, fitted into a genuine Pattern 1908 webbing frog, blancoed for parade use. This is one of the rarer examples of a rare and sought after bayonet.
