British Patt. 1907 Wilkinson made bayonet and scabbard, dated 1915 , 3 HLI marked

This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE.  Ricasso markings show 1907 for the Pattern under the Royal Cypher of George V,  7 '15 for manufacture date and Wilkinson as the manufacturer. The other side shows acceptance marks, broad arrow and bend test. The full 17" parkarised steel blade is in very good condition, excellent point and factory sharpened edge, with just a couple of dings. Both inspection stamped wooden grips are very good, good release button, and pommel stamped 3HLI for 3rd battalion Highland Light Infantry, above what looks like T220. Crossguard and pommel have been polished with signs of laquer, probably for parade use. The oval-frogstud scabbard is also in very good condition, all stitching intact, with nice and tight polished throat and chape. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 SMLE.
