British Lee-Metford P1888 Mk1 bayonet and scabbard, 1891 dated, N.R. 67 marked

This is a British Pattern 1888 mk1 bayonet as fitted to the Lee-Metford and Long Lee rifles used by the British Army in the late 19th century and up till WW1. Marked 7 '91 under the cypher of Queen Victoria and above Wilkinson, London, plus re-acceptance dates on one ricasso, and broadarrow, inspection and bend test stamped on the other. Very good clean bright steel blade with perfect edge and point and just minor staining, good wooden grips and release button. Stamped N.R.67 566 on the pommel, Northamptonshire Regiment? Fitted into good sound leather scabbard, minor movement in throat. An interesting piece of military history.
