British Lee-Enfield No9 knife bayonet and scabbard, dated 1948, with frog **SOLD**
This is the No.9, last of the line for the socket bayonet fitted to the Lee-Enfield no.4 rifle. The simple No.4 spike transformed into the elaborate no.7 knife bayonet with rotating handle, and then finished as a cross between the two, a knife bayonet without handle which served only one purpose. In excellent condition with very good point and factory edge. Poole factory stamped on the socket with a date of 1948. Very good undented scabbard, correct brass throat, fitted into genuine khaki webbing frog. A great addition for a post-war Enfield no4 rifle, but will of course fit any No4 rifle.
