British Lee-Enfield No9 knife bayonet and scabbard, dated 1948 **SOLD**


This is the No.9, last of the line for the socket bayonet fitted to the Lee-Enfield no.4 rifle. The simple No.4 spike transformed into the elaborate no.7 knife bayonet with rotating handle, and then finished as a cross between the two, a knife bayonet without handle which served only one purpose.  In good condition with very good point and factory edge, though showing some signs of corrosion on the blade. Poole factory stamped on the socket with a date of 1948. Very good undented scabbard, though again showing signs of corrosion that would have been under the frog. A great addition for a post-war Enfield no4 rifle, but will of course fit any No4 rifle. Genuine webbing frogs also available for £10, no extra post if ordered together.
