This is the No.9, last of the line for the socket bayonet fitted to the Lee-Enfield no.4 rifle. The simple No.4 spike transformed into the elaborate no.7 knife bayonet with rotating handle, and then finished as a cross between the two, a knife bayonet without handle which served only one purpose. In good condition throughout, very good point and edge. With blacked ricasso and socket, Poole factory stamped and dated 1949 on the socket top. No scabbard. A great addition for a post-war Enfield no4 rifle.
