British Lee-Enfield no7 knife bayonet, scabbard **SOLD**


This is the No.7 mk1 bayonet, the penultimate socket bayonet fitted to the Lee-Enfield no.4 rifle. The simple No.4 spike transformed into this elaborate knife bayonet with rotating handle, and then finished as a cross between the two, the No.9, a knife bayonet without handle which served only one purpose. Modern bayonets have now returned to the dual purpose role of a useful knife as well as an extension to your rifle when you run out of ammo, or just fancy a bayonet charge!  In very good condition, excellent point and very good edge, unlike most you find now. Stamped No7.MK.1/L on the ricasso, and with nicely blacked  crossguard and broadarrow stamped pommel. Good undented and complete scabbard with dispersal code stamp S273.
