British Home Guard issue Pattern 1913 bayonet, scabbard and frog **SOLD**

This is a Remington made Pattern 1913 bayonet as fitted to the US Model 1917 rifle (often mistakenly called the P17) and the Enfield P14. These bayonets were re-issued in WW2 to be used with the P14 and M17 rifles that armed the Home Guard units. This particular bayonet is in very good condition, with excellent straight blade, undamaged edge and point, unsharpened. Marked 1913 for the pattern above the maker logo for Remington and a date of 6 '16. The other side showing bend test, inspection and broad arrow marks on the blacked ricasso. Very good grips and nicely blued crossguard and pommel with signs of light corrosion. The scabbard is equally good with original black finish to the leather, again light corrosion on chape. The leather frog is in very good condition, maker marked B.H.&C.and dated 1940. A great addition for a collector or Home Guard re-enactor.
