Austrian M1895 bayonet, scabbard and frog **SOLD**
This is an Austrian made knife bayonet for use with the 8 mm. M1895 Mannlicher straight-pull rifle, which was produced in great quantities prior to and during the First World War in both Hungary and Austria. The M1895 was the first knife bayonet to feature an inverted blade profile, where cutting edge faces upwards when fixed. The bayonet is marked OE over WG on the ricasso, for Oesterreichsche Waffenfabrik-Gesellschaft (Austrian State Weapons Manufacturing Company) in Steyr. In good overall condition with good clean blade and good edge and point, good wooden grips and release button, and good sound undented scabbard with most of it's original green painted finish. Fitted into an original leather frog.
