American Remington Model 1917 bayonet, scabbard and Home Guard frog **SOLD**

This is a Model 1917 bayonet as fitted to the US Model of 1917 as well as the British P13 and P14 rifles, made under contract in the USA. This particular example is marked Remington under the model date/number of 1917. On the other side are the US inspection stamps and bend test stamp. The blade has a very nice dark parkarised finish to it, perfect point and unsharpened edge. Excellent grips and release button, with most of the blacking to pommel and crossguard. Very good unusual US Maxim scabbard, retaining most of the original green finish, with Maxim frog attachment removed to facilitate fitting of the leather P39 Home Guard frog, which is in good undamaged condition, maker marked and dated 1940 to the rear. A great addition to any WW1 P14 or M17, or Home Guard enthusiast.
