American Remington made Pattern 1913 bayonet and scabbard/1 **SOLD***

This is a pattern 1913 bayonet as fitted to the British P13 and P14 rifles as well as the US Model of 1917, made under contract in the USA. This particular example is marked Remington under a faint date of 5 17, and 1913 as the pattern. On the other side is a crossed-out imperial inspection and broadarrow  stamp, and a US stamp, indicating it was transferred to the Americans to fit their M17 rifles. The blade is heavily parkarised to give a dark finish to it, perfect point and edge, unsharpened. Good grips, though light damage to left side one, and release button, with most dark patina to pommel and crossguard. Very good round frog-stud scabbard with similar good finish to the maker marked steel parts, stamped M/58 on the leather and M/44 on throat and chape. A great addition to any WW1 P14 or M17, or Home Guard re-inactor.
