American Remington made Pattern 1913 bayonet and scabbard, dated 1916 **SOLD**

This is a pattern 1913 bayonet as fitted to the British P13 and P14 rifles as well as the US Model of 1917, made under contract in the USA. This particular example is clearly marked Remington under a date of 1 16 and 1913 as the pattern. On the other side is imperial inspection stamp and broadarrow and bend test stamped. The blade has a nice even patina to it, good point, and unsharpened edge. Good sound grips and release button. Interesting deliberate notches carved in grip. Are these to improve the grip or do they have a more macabre relevance? Nicely blacked crossguard and pommel, bearing weapon number 518. Very good  correct Patt 1907 Remington made oval frog-stud scabbard with the brown finish to the leather, undamaged and unbent. Similar good finish to steel, both parts stamped RE for Remington, and UK inspection stamp to rear. A very nice authentic and matching set, and a great addition to any WW1 P14 or M17.
