American Remington made Pattern 1913 bayonet and scabbard, 1917 dated, unusual grips **SOLD**

This is a pattern 1913 bayonet as fitted to the British P13 and P14 rifles as well as the US Model of 1917, made under contract in the USA. This particular example is marked Remington on the ricasso under a date of 7 17, and 1913 as the pattern. On the other side is imperial inspection stamped. The blade is lightly parkarised, perfect point, and very good unsharpened edge. Very good wooden grips that are not the usual grooved type, and slightly more bulbous than the Patt '07 grips. Good release button with good blacking to pommel and crossguard. Very good oval frog-stud scabbard with similar finish to the steel parts, both nice and tight, and both marked RE for Remington.  The brown leather is lightly stamped RE '17 to the rear. A great addition to any WW1 P14 or M17, or Home Guard re-inactor.
