American Remington made Model 1917 parade bayonet and scabbard SOLD

This is a Remington made bayonet for use with the US made Enfield Model 17 and P14 rifles, chrome plated on all the steel parts for parade use.  The  ricasso shows a pattern date of 1917 above the Remington ringed logo.  The other side shows the US  'flaming bomb' stamp and an eagle's head stamp with the digits 19. I'm not sure whether this is the first or second half of a date, as very faint figures are visible under the flaming bomb, possibly 18. The blade is in good, straight condition, with  good undamaged chroming, but a nick in the otherwise undamaged edge about 15mm from the point.  Both wooden grips are near perfect, and good release button.  The wire-hanger suspended scabbard is undamaged and unbent, all stitching intact to the leather, but slightly loose chape and throat as probably removed for chroming. Marked Jewell-1918 on the rear. A lovely piece of history to compliment any WW1 US M17.
