This is a genuine US issue leather holster for the Colt M1911 pistol or similar. In excellent condition, it has US in an oval embossed on the front flap, and is maker marked R.I.A. (Rock Island Arsenal) and dated 1916 to the rear with W.P.G. inspection stamp.  The leather is in very good condition as shown, no cracks, excellent rivets and stitching, with brass wire hanger for attaching to US M1910 infantry equipment. Hard to find a better example.
