American Case USMC boxed presentation fighting knife

Made by Case & Sons of Bradford, Pennsylvania USA, this a collectors presentation fighting knife, and a perfect representation of the original prototype USMC fighting knife. Hand crafted from 1095 carbon steel with a 7" blade and sturdy leather grooved handle and scabbard, this knife is in excellent unused condition, and comes in original box with a certificate of authenticity. The USMC fighting knife, chosen in 1942 to be the preferred combat knife for the United States Marine Corps, has since then been part of their standard equipment. The 1095 carbon steel blade, though not stainless, does make it very robust and able to retain a sharp edge, hence the blacked coating.
