Artillery brass shell cases
This is a 40mm Bofors MkII anti-aircraft shell case, dated 1941 on it's base. The Bofors was developed in the early 1930's in Sweden and was used by both allied and axis powers during WW2, many in an anti-aircraft role. This example is interesting in that it is faintly engraved on the side due to presumably much polishing, with a dedication to the 14th Army, India - Burma, 1942-1945. A lovely souvenir of that campaign.
