Deactivated Webley mk IV revolver 0.455" calibre **SOLD**

This is the Webley mark 4 revolver in 0.455 inch calibre and 4 inch barrel, introduced in 1899.  Webley revolvers were standard issue to the British Army and those of the Commonwealth from 1887 to 1963, and this particular model, the mk IV saw action in the Boer War, and was also widely used in WW1, although it was superceeded by the mk V in 1913, and then the mk VI in 1915. This particular example is a current specification deactivation, and is in very good original condition, with complete undamaged grips with only the marks you'd expect from a revolver thats over 100 years old, and original untouched finish to the steel. Broad arrow and inspection stamped throughout, this revolver has a precise action and unworn hinge, and has matching serial numbers. It is marked SAP 291 on the grip strap, with T.P. crossed out. A lovely authentic example of this iconic service revolver. Inert rounds not included. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate  to UK specification.
