Deactivated German Heckler & Koch G3 FMP 7.62mm battle rifle, 1965 dated **SOLD**

This is the NATO issue G3 battle rifle developed in the 1950s  by the German   armament manufacturer Heckler & Koch GmbH in partnership with the Spanish state-owned design and development agency CETME. Chambered for the standard Nato round, 7.62 x 54mm, the G3 was based on a prototype assault rifle being developed by Mauser at the end of WW2. It came into service in 1959 and continued up till the mid-1990s, seeing action in many conflicts and wars throughout the world, including the Gulf War. This particular example is the 'FMP' variant. A late spec deactivation in excellent condition, it can be field stripped, with the butt, forestock, and pistol grip/ trigger group removable, with the bonus of a fully moving trigger and functioning safety. Dated 1965 on the magazine housing, this weapon comes complete with leather sling and detachable magazine, and a couple of inert rounds to load into the magazine. This deact can provide a lot of interest as shown by the pictures, and requires no tools to strip. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
