This is the famous Bren Gun, based on a Czech design and introduced in 1937 to the British Army, where it continued in service right up to the Gulf War in 1991, although by then it had been reworked to fire the Nato 7.62mm round rather than the rimmed .303 round of WW2. This particular example is a mk2 in very good condition, made at the John Inglis & Co plant in Canada, under a contract signed in 1938 with the British Government to supply 12,000 Brens to the UK and Canada. Very good original woodwork and steel, with matching serial numbers to both upper and lower sections and barrel removal lever. Dated 1943 on the right side of the breech, this is a super example of a Canadian-issued GPMG.  Able to be cocked and dry-fired, and a degree of field stripping. A classic light machine gun of WW2 at an affordable price. Complete with sling and 3 rounds of inert .303 ammunition to load into the magazine, plus a spare magazine. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.
