Deactivated Austrian Steyr M95 rifle 1917 dated **SOLD**

Designed by Ferdinand Ritter von Mannlicher in 1895 and manufactured at the Steyr works in Austria, this rifle equipped the Austro-Hungarian Army during WW1 and was still being used as a second-line weapon in WW2. Originally chambered for a 8 x 50mm round, between the wars it was re-chambered for a longer more powerful 56mm cartridge. The reworked rifles were marked with a 'S' on the receiver. Popular for its impressive rate of fire due to the revolutionary straight-pull bolt action rather than the usual rotating bolt, this rifle was a reliable and effective weapon. This example is in excellent original condition, with super undamaged woodwork and excellent blacked steel, marked with the 'S', and dated 17 for 1917 on the receiver. Matching serial numbers to bolt, breech, barrel and butt-stock, this is an unusual axis-power rifle. It can be cocked and dry-fired and field stripped, and comes complete with repro heavy leather sling.  Clip of inert rounds is not included but available for £15 in 'Inert Ammunition' section, post free if ordered together with rifle. Deactivated in the UK with Certificate to UK specification.

Our Price: £375.00

All deactivated weapons sold by Jaybe Militaria are deactivated in the United Kingdom and hold a London or Birmingham certificate stating that the weapon has been deactivated correctly and is legal within the U.K.
