This is a Pattern 1907 bayonet for use with the Lee-Enfield rifle no1 mk3 or 3*, better known as the SMLE.  This example has a lightly parkarised blade with blacked ricasso with very good unsharpened blade and point with perfect edge. Most details are still visible on the ricasso, showing a date of 6 18, the Royal Cypher and 'Wilkinson' as the maker. The other side shows the usual inspection, bend test and broad arrow marks. Very good wooden grips on both sides, and good release button, with very good blacked finish to the steel. Particularly nice is both grips are inspection stamped. The oval-stud scabbard is in good sound condition, all stitching intact to the leather, nice patina to the steel, with R.A.F. stamped on the lip of the throat. Complete with Patt '37 webbing frog in khaki. A lovely piece of history to compliment any SMLE.
